Lesson Learned from OJT Experience

OJT is a new experience to me. I had a lot hard time to search a better company that will shape my personality as one of their staff. I tried to apply in all company that are related to Computer Science. When I saw my future office including the desktops and developers, I immediately submit my resume, hoping that they will call me after 3 days. Unfortunately, they don’t have vacant for OJT. I am disappointed but I still continued to look for the best company. I tried so many times to the point I just want to do nothing but I don’t accept failure when I didn’t do my best. After so many trials, I came up to DENR CENR Olongapo City.

As a starter of OJT, I experienced to work on pressure for the first time. However, this limited working hours will push you to finish all of your duties that your supervisor assigned on a given time. The important thing on your job is you have confidence to yourself. Be reminded to do your work with acknowledging your passion at all times for you to have confidence in every task you have done. Just focus on dealing with your works and apply all of your knowledge as BSCS student to help maintain and develop your strong and weak skills area such as Data Encoding, Technical Support, Customer Service, Office Works and familiarization on functions/ jobs done by employee. In the world of industry is necessary to act as a professional according to your passion profession and position. You have to be cooperative and attentive on your job because there is no such time to rest unless your work is done.

I also experienced to appreciate every employee’s kindness. They are all approachable, flexible at work, humble and hospitable. They clearly give you instruction to follow and they always motivate you in life by sharing their foods, concerns and hardship in life. Hence, it is easy to ask them when you don’t have any idea what are you doing. However, they are strictly on time since it is a government office. They will teach you how to be responsible enough to work on your own. That’s why I managed to engage myself as a student in OJT.

I encountered a serious ambience inside of the DENR CENRO Olongapo Office. They have a lot of issue to solve it and this concern was all about government and residence properties, preserving natural resources, saving endanger species and lessen pollution on the area of Olongapo City.

DENR CENRO Olongapo is accustomed to sustain its natural resources by maintaining the environment for all generations. It shows the significant of the relation of society and environment. It is particular to engaged the people to visualize their cooperation in terms of natural resources.

Being a student trainee, for the 200 hrs. I spend in this midyear practicum I learned to adjust every single day of my working hrs. to handle work pressure. I observed that every employee in office is serious on how they handle their work. Therefore, I learned to expect for a thousand papers on your desk to encode, organize, and secure data. Expect for having difficulties and no lunch break. Lastly, I learned to prove myself to them that even though we are beginners; we can get along with their works by showing them how reliable and responsible student trainee I was.
